The Story of Kalotsi Soft Drinks

The story of Kalotsi Soft Drinks begins in 1938 in Alexandria, Imathia, with Konstantinos Kalotsis, a refugee from Eastern Rumelia, who founded the family business through hard work, persistence and vision.

1938
Founding & first factory
That same year he built the area’s first ice and soft-drink factory, offering a vital service for the time. Ice met the daily needs of households, professionals and businesses across greater Imathia, while production of the first Kalotsi soft drinks began alongside it.
With the arrival of electricity and the spread of the first refrigerators, ice production completed its historical cycle, and the company continued strongly, focusing exclusively on soft drinks.
2000
Second generation
The founder’s son, Athanasios Kalotsis, took the baton and continued the family work with dedication. In 2000 he expanded the business significantly, creating a beverage trading division, broadening partnerships and strengthening the company’s market presence.
2019
Third generation
In 2019, leadership passed to the third generation, with Konstantinos Kalotsis taking the helm. A Business Administration graduate of a UK university and holder of an MBA in Marketing, he combined modern business thinking with the values he inherited from his family.
With vision, strategy and faith in tradition, he led the company into a new era of growth. He strengthened export activity, built partnerships with major supermarket chains and leading industry businesses, and expanded the product range—bringing back historic flavors and creating new ones for today’s market.

88+ years of tradition
Today, more than 88 years after its founding, Kalotsi remains an authentic Greek family business that keeps evolving—guided by quality, reliability, respect for the consumer and continuous innovation.
